QSE ends Tuesday in red

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) closed Tuesday’s trading session in red territory, pressured by the fall of six sectors.

The general index finished the session down 97.65 points, or 1.07%, to 9,014.32 points

The QSE’s turnover shrunk to QAR 222.21 million on Tuesday from QAR 403.97 million on Monday, while trading volume narrowed to 10.71 million shares, against 16.9 million in the previous session.

Six sectors have fallen, topped by the real estate sector with a 4.79 drop, followed by the industrial and the banking sectors which fell 1.38% and 1.21%, respectively.

On the other hand, the insurance sector rose solely with a 0.48% rise.

Ezdan Holding Group’s stock led top losers with 6.37%, while Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance headed top losers with 4.26%.

Mesaieed’s stock, closed down 5.29%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 3.28 million shares and QAR 56.39 million in liquidity.
