QSE ends Tuesday in red

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index dropped 13.55 points, or 0.14%, to close at 9,935.47 points on Tuesday.

The QSE’s liquidity leapt to QAR 327.55 million on Tuesday from QAR 273.53 million in the previous session, while trading volume climbed to 11.04 million shares, compared to 6.66 million on Monday.

The banking sector led decliners and slid 0.92% after the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) dropped 1.59%.

On the other hand, the goods sector topped gainers after adding 2.08% as Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution hiked 9.92%.

Doha Insurance headed fallers with 6.28%, while Al Khaleej Takaful Insurance led risers and advanced 9.94% after announcing its profit hiked 10354% year-on-year to QAR 20.28 million in 2018.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which upped 2.22%, registered the highest trading volume with 2.99 million shares, while QNB’s stock led the QSE in terms of liquidity of QAR 71.17 million.
