QSE ends Wednesday down

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index inched down 4.19 points, or 0.04%, to close at 9,761.69 points on Wednesday.

The QSE’s liquidity shrank to QAR 275.97 million, from QAR 326.31 million in the previous session, while trading volume declined to 8.15 million shares, against 10.73 million on Tuesday.

The real estate sector retreated 2.03% after Ezdan Holding and United Development dropped 3.35% and 2.32%, respectively.

The goods sector went down 0.66%, headed by Salam International Investment which tumbled 3.33%.

On the other hand, the banking sector led risers and grew 0.27% as the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) edged up 0.29%.

Doha Insurance led decliners and slid 5.58%, while Zad Holding topped gainers after adding 5.41%.

Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding’s stock, down 3.24%, registered the highest trading volume of 1.74 million shares, while Industries Qatar, which fell 0.89%, led the QSE in terms of turnover with QAR 50.14 million.

Earlier on Wednesday, Mesaieed announced that its ordinary general meeting (OGM) approved distributing a cash dividend of 8% of the share’s nominal value.
