QSE ends Wednesday in green

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index grew 18.30 points, or 0.18%, to close at 10,236.22 points on Wednesday.

The QSE’s liquidity retreated to QAR 240.14 million on Wednesday from QAR 261.79 million in the previous session, while trading volume increased to 11.79 million shares, compared to 10.87 million on Tuesday.

The insurance sector led risers after adding 0.60% headed by Qatar Islamic Insurance which advanced 2.32%.

Meanwhile, the banking sector grew 0.41% after Al Khalij Commercial Bank went up 2.13% to SAR 12.

On the other hand, the real estate sector headed fallers and slid 1.65% as Ezdan Holding tumbled 2.67%.

Qatari German for Medical Devices topped gainers with 3.40%, while Islamic Holding Group led decliners and shed 2.92%.

United Development’s stock, which inched up 0.90%, registered the highest trading volume with 2.93 million shares, while the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, which remained unchanged at QAR 180.99, spearheaded the QSE with a turnover of QAR 46.71 million.
