QSE ends Wednesday in red

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) closed Wednesday's trading session in the red for the third session in a row, dragged down by the fall of six sectors.

The general index declined 58.19 points, or 0.69%, to 8,371.11 points.

By the end of the session, the QSE’s liquidity increased to QAR 198.34 million from QAR 151.43 million on Tuesday, while the trading volume went up to 10.82 million shares against 8.08 million in the previous session.

The real estate sector topped the QSE’s losers falling 4.01% as Ezdan Holding Group slid 6.99%.

The goods sector went down 1.76% as Al Manaai declined 2.76%, while the industrial sector decreased 0.85% after Mesaieed tumbled 7.55%.

Similarly, the banking sector inched down 0.76% on the back of Qatar National Bank’s 0.42% fall.

Meanwhile, the transportation sector was the market’s only gainer adding 0.15% as Qatar Navigation rose 1.57%.

Qatar First Bank’s stock led the bourse in terms of trading volume with 3.7 million shares, generating QAR 25.4 million.
