QSE ends Wednesday in red

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index declined 39.61 points, or 0.39%, to close at 10,161.57 points on Wednesday.

The QSE’s liquidity retreated to QAR 244.75 million on Wednesday from QAR 264.97 million in the previous session, while trading volume rose to QAR 10.83 million shares, compared to QAR 10.69 million on Tuesday.

The industrials sector fell 0.86% headed by Qatar National Cement which tumbled 2.01%.

Meanwhile, the banking sector went down 0.47% as the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) slid 1.04%.

On the other hand, the real estate sector led risers with 1.58% after Ezdan Holding and United Development grew 3.33% and 0.35%, respectively.

Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution headed fallers and plunged 8.45%, while Al Khaleej Takaful Insurance topped gainers with 5.47%.

Qatar First Bank’s (QFB) stock, which remained unchanged at QAR 4.30, registered the highest trading volume with 1.57 million shares, whereas QNB’s stock spearheaded the QSE in terms of turnover of QAR 28.15 million.
