Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Wednesday's trading session in decline after its benchmark fell 12.4 points, or 0.12%, to 9,961.55 points.
The bourse’s trading volume increased 6.2% to 10.26 million shares, from 9.66 million on Tuesday, while liquidity jumped 34.7%, reaching QAR 316.17 million, compared to QAR 234.71 million.
The industrials sector declined 1%, followed by the consumer goods and services sector with 0.5%. The telecom firms rose 2.1%.
Al Meera Consumer Goods’ stock led losers with 2.1%, while Qatar Islamic Insurance Company’s (QISI) stock was the best performer with 4.1% after 1,120 shares were exchanged with a turnover of QAR 62,120 to close at QAR 55.8.
Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, up 0.57%, topped the QSE in terms of traded value after posting QAR 85.6 million, while Ezdan Holding Group’s stock, up 0.93%, led in terms of trading volume after 1.52 million shares were exchanged.
