QSE ends losing streak, gains 231 points

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) turned into green on Wednesday, as all sectors rose.  

The main index rose 2.64% or 230.88 points to 8,979.50 points, Al Rayan Islamic Index increased 2.63% to 3,196.71 points and the All Shares Index soared 2.56% to 2,386.85 points.

Trading volume rose 14% to 7.05 million shares from 6.18 million shares exchanged yesterday Turnover also moved up 2% to QAR 213.15 million versus QAR 217.53 on Tuesday. 

Telecom was the top performing sector as it jumped 2.92%, followed by insurance (+3.92%), industrial (+3.01%), transportation (+2.50%), banking (+2.24%), real estate (+2.1%) and goods (+1.38%).

Gulf Warehousing topped gainers by adding 9.78%, while Mazaya Qatar and Milaha fell 4.88 and 0.47% respectively.

With 1.39 million traded shares worth QAR 15.6 million, Mazaya Qatar was the heaviest-traded stock, whereas QNB led in value with QAR 40 million turnover.

The main index dropped yesterday 1.13% or 100.24 points to 8,748.62 points.
