QSE ends up on blue chips Thursday

 

Doha – Mubasher: The general index of the Qatar Exchange (QSE) ended Thursday at a slight rise of 0.08% or 7.47 points, closing at 9,885.22 points, backed by positive performance on some of its leading stocks.

A total of 5 sectors were in the green, led by consumer goods and services, which grew 0.61% on the back of Al Meera which was recorded the highest rise of 1.78% on QSE today. Zad Holding and Medicare Group gained 1.12% and 1.09%, respectively.

The telecom sector increased 0.44% as Vodafone Qatar and Ooredoo grew 0.38% and 0.45%, respectively.

The banking sector levelled up 0.17% backed by the Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ), Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) and Dlala Holding, which added 1.09%, 0.63% and 0.21%, respectively.

On the other hand, the real estate and insurance sectors lost 0.49% and 0.15%, respectively, pressured by Ezdan Holding and Qatar Insurance which were down 0.88% and 0.14%, respectively.

The banking sector was the most active in terms of traded volume on Thursday, as QNB’s achieved a turnover of QAR 17.5 million, while Vodafone Qatar recorded the highest traded volume of 939,000 shares.

Turnover grew 41.7% on Thursday to 4.11 million shares traded, up from 2.9 million shares on Wednesday, while traded value jumped 57% to QAR 149.5 million compared to QAR 95.2 million yesterday.
