Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday’s session rising by 0.33% or 37.6 points to the level of 11,408.75 points, registering its fourth straight rise.
Trading volume decreased to 10.79 million shares from 17.64 million shares exchanged on Tuesday, turnover also retreated to QAR 451.73 million from QAR 815.68 million.
The index was backed by the rise in blue chips as Ooredoo, QIB, QIIB and Industries Qatar grew by 2.84%, 1.5%, 1.2% and 0.9% respectively.
The insurance sector was the best performer after adding 2.9% as Qatar Insurance led gainers with an increase of 3.9%.
The telecom sector also rose by 2.6% as Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar advanced 2.84% and 1.58% respectively.
Meanwhile, the real estate and consumer goods sectors declined by 1.63% and 0.14% respectively.
