QSE extends losing streak at Sunday's close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index fell 12.14 points, or 0.12%, to close at 9,769.04 points on Sunday.

The QSE’s liquidity declined to QAR 203.47 million on Sunday, from QAR 222.25 million in the previous session, while trading volume tumbled to 7.17 million shares, compared to 7.42 million on Thursday.

The real estate sector led decliners and shed 2.29% as Ezdan Holding Group and Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development dropped 3.96% and 0.28%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the banking sector retreated 0.53% after the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) slid 0.67%.

On the other hand, the goods sector rose 0.73% as Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution levelled up 9.87%.

Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding, which shed 0.22%, spearheaded the QSE in terms of trading volume and value after 1.33 million shares were traded at a turnover of QAR 23.91 million.
