QSE falls 0.43% at close amid lower liquidity

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday’s trading with a fall of 0.43% or 45.53 points to the level of 10,438.56 points.

The index was pressured by the fall in Commercial Bank of Qatar, which topped the rid list with a 4.82% decrease. Ezdan and Industries Qatar also slid by 0.12% and 0.83% respectively.

Trading volume decreased to 4 million shares from 5.24 million shares exchanged on Tuesday, turnover also dropped to QAR 119 million from QAR 232.45 million.

The bourse’s sector fell collectively at close, topped by the consumer goods and services sector with a 1.12% drop as Medicare Group retreated 2.92%.

The insurance sector was down by 0.98% due to a 3.6% fall in Qatar Islamic Insurance, the banking sector declined 0.13%.

The real estate sector decreased 0.10% as Mazaya Qatar and United Development shrank by 1.5% and 1.4% respectively.
