QSE falls 0.54% at close

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) main index ended Tuesday’s session falling by 0.54% or 52.67 points to the level of 9,636.4 points.

Trading volume increased to 5.88 million shares from 5.48 million shares exchanged on Monday, turnover also rose to QAR 188.7 million from QAR 146.9 million.

QNB led the red list after falling by 3.69%, Ezdan Holding shrank 0.74% and Industries Qatar slid 0.1%, the three stocks forms more than 40% of the index’s total weight.

The banking sector dropped 1.67% as Qatar Oman Investment and Masraf Al Rayan decreased 2.11% and 1.05% respectively, while Commercial Bank of Qatar rose 1.19%. The latter made the highest turnover of QAR 34.68 million.

The real estate sector slid 0.64% due to a fall of 0.67% and 0.34% in Ezdan and Barwa Real Estate, the industrial sector retreated 0.07% as Gulf International shrank 0.69%.

Meanwhile, the telecom sector grew 1.88%, backed by a 2.2% rise in Ooredoo, the best performing stock, and an increase of 0.34% in Vodafone Qatar.

The insurance and consumer goods sectors also leapt by 0.8% and 0.74% respectively.
