QSE falls 0.73% at close Wednesday

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday’s trading with a drop of 0.73% to the level of 10,634.9 points; its lowest level since early August.

Trading volume decreased 29.59% to 5.64 million shares from 8 million shares, turnover also shrank 26.34% to QAR 256.54 million from QAR 348.3 million.

The fall was due to the drop in some blue chips as Industries Qatar retreated 2.27%, Masraf Al Rayan declined 2.74% and QIB slid 1.12%.

The bourse’s sectors fell semi-collectively, topped by the telecom sector with a decrease of 1.13%, followed by the industrial and insurance sector with a fall of 1.11% and 0.9% respectively.

The banking sector declined 0.36% as Commercial Bank of Qatar and QNB fell 2.11% and 0.77% respectively.

The consumer goods and services sector rose alone by 0.31%.

QNB made the highest liquidity of QAR 50.92 million, while Masraf Al Rayan made the biggest trading volume activity of 1.13 million shares.
