QSE falls 42 pts early Wednesday

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Wednesday’s trading session down, pressured by the drop of four sectors.

By 09:50 am Qatar time, the general index fell 42.27 points, or 0.45%, to 9,084.13 points.

The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 26.69 million after 503,230 million shares were exchanged through 572 transactions.

The industrial sector topped the QSE’s losers falling 0.78% as Qatari Investors Group went down 1.60%.

Similarly, the real estate sector retreated 0.77% after United Development Company dropped 1.60%, while the banking sector decreased 0.35% as the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) levelled down 0.46%.

Meanwhile, the insurance sector headed the bourse’s risers adding 0.70%, boosted by Qatar Islamic Insurance and Qatar Insurance which rose 2.52% and 0.64%, respectively.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which declined 1.69%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 202,900 shares, while QNB’s stock headed the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 15.9 million.
