QSE falls 58 pts at Sunday’s close

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Sunday’s session in the red, pressured by a collective fall of its sectors.

The general index went down 0.62%, or 58.25 points, to close at 9,362.42 points.

The bourse’s liquidity nearly halved to QAR 84.87 million on Sunday from QAR 156.63 million in the previous session, while trading volume went down to 4.09 million shares from 5.77 million on Thursday.

The industrial sector topped the QSE’s losers, falling 0.61% after Qatari Investors Group declined 2.52%.

Similarly, the banking sector levelled down 0.57% on the back of Doha Bank’s 5.26% drop, while the goods and services sector decreased 0.48% as Zad Holding Company retreated 4.14%.

By the end of the session, Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which declined 0.96%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 1.3 million shares exchanged, while Doha Bank’s stock spearheaded the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 15.06 million.
