QSE falls Sunday, 6 sectors weigh

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) retreated at Sunday’s close on the back of six sectors.

The main index decreased by 0.24% or 20.33 points to 8,292.10 points.

The consumer goods sector tumbled 1.82% after three stocks declined led by Mannai Corporation, which plunged 9.99%.

The banks sector decreased by 0.33% after Islamic Holding Group shed 6.72%.

Meanwhile, the industrials sector was the sole gainer on the QSE, adding 0.38% pushed by five stocks headed by Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Co. (QIMC), which rose 3.47%.

The QSE’s trading value decreased to QAR 177.06 million from QAR 181.67 million on Thursday, while trading volume retreated to 8.45 million shares from 10.41 million shares.

Vodafone Qatar, which lost 0.82%, was the most-actively traded stock in terms of trading volume with 2.5 million shares, while Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, stable at QAR 122, was the most actively-traded in terms of value with QAR 42.4 million.
