QSE falls for 4th straight session Tuesday

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Tuesday in the red for the fourth session in a row, dragged down by the fall of six sectors amid mixed trade.

The general index declined 63.14 points, or 0.70%, to 8,929.50 points.

By the end of the session, the QSE’s liquidity decreased to QAR 252.08 million on Tuesday from QAR 511.55 million on Monday, while the trading volume went up to 11.56 million shares against 9.86 million in the previous session.

The real estate sector topped the QSE’s six losers falling 1.91% as Barwa Real Estate levelled down 2.64%.

The industrial sector went down 0.96% after Qatar National Cement levelled slid 8.27%, while the banking sector dragged 0.93% due to Qatar National Bank’s 0.98% drop.

Meanwhile, the telecommunication sector was the bourse’s only gainer rising 3.80% on the back of Vodafone Qatar’s 9.92% growth.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock led the market in terms of trading volume with 3.9 million shares, while Masraf Al Rayan’s stock, which declined 1.22%, topped the bourse in terms of liquidity with QAR 33.1 million.
