Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index dropped 24.82 points, or 0.25%, to close at 9,744.22 points on Monday, the fifth consecutive decline.
The QSE’s liquidity climbed to QAR 247.02 million on Monday, from QAR 203.47 million in the previous session, while trading volume leaped to 10.25 million shares, compared to 7.17 million on Sunday.
The insurance sector led decliners and fell 1.56% after Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance and Doha Insurance Group slid 7% and 2.83%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the banking sector inched down 0.19% as the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) retreated 0.39%, while Islamic Holding Group led risers, adding 3.74%.
On the other hand, the goods sector rose 1.04% after Qatar Fuel (Woqod) grew 1.90%.
Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding’s stock, which upped 0.67%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume and value after 2.69 million shares were exchanged at a turnover of QAR 48.56 million.
