QSE gains 105 pts Monday

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) closed Monday’s trading session on a positive note, supported by a massive growth of all sectors.

The general index added 105 points, or 1.02%, to finish at 10,365.62 points.

The bourse’s liquidity increased to QAR 289.08 million on Monday from QAR 82.22 million on Sunday, while the trading volume levelled up to 9.12 million shares against 2.90 million in the previous session.

The real estate sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 1.48% as Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development went up 2.75%.

Similarly, the banking sector jumped 1.40% after the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) advanced 1.85%, while the industrial sector grew 0.29%, boosted by Industries Qatar's 0.67% jump.

Doha Insurance Group’s stock led risers with 6.70%, while Al Meera Consumer Goods’ stock spearheaded decliners with 1.33%.

By the end of the session, Doha Bank’s stock, which levelled up 1.01%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 1.4 million shares, while Barwa Group’s stock, which went up 0.64%, generated the highest liquidity with QAR 49.9 million.
