QSE gains 115 pts at Thursday close

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Thursday’s trading session in the green, on the back of a collective rise of its sectors amid high liquidity.

The general index jumped 1.13%, or 115.67 points, to 10,368.17 points.

By the end of the last session this week, the QSE’s liquidity increased to QAR 259.2 million from QAR 173.3 million on Wednesday, while the trading volume levelled up to 5.9 million shares against 4.9 million in the previous session.

The goods and services sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 2.75% after Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution surged 9.56%.

Similarly, the banking sector rose 2% on the back of Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) 3.14% increase, while the industrial sector inched up 0.12% as Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding went up 1.33%.

By the end of the session, QNB’s stock led the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 62.3 million, while Qatar Gas Transport’s (Nakilat) stock, which stood at QAR 17.90, spearheaded the market in terms of trading volume with 784,400 shares.
