Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) opened Thursday on a positive note, in line with earlier expectations for the GCC markets.
The bourse’s main index rose 0.18% or 18.23 points to the level of 10,264.10 points.
Analysts told Mubasher that the GCC bourses are expected to see a positive performance on Thursday, backed by a recovery in global markets, despite the fall in oil.
Trading volume hit 2.26 million shares which were exchanged at QAR 97.75 million ($26.85 million) through 1,675 trades.
The real estate was the best performing sector after rising 0.66%, while transportation was the worst after falling 0.48%.
Gulf Commercial Bank topped gainers by adding 2.29%, whereas Al Khalij Takaful Group headed the red list with a 3.33% decline.
The benchmark index fell yesterday by 0.42 point to the level of 10,245.87 points.
