QSE gains 22 points to snap 3-day losing streak

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Wednesday’s trading in green, after suffering a three-day losing run.

The benchmark index rose 0.22% or 22.25 points to the level of 10,031.02 points, Al Rayan Islamic Index also grew 0.73% to 3,933.18 points and the All Share Index moved 0.21% up to 2,796.25 points.

Trading volume decreased 23.6% to 7.8 million shares from 10.27 million shares exchanged on Tuesday. Turnover also fell 6.08% to QAR 349.57 million ($95.99 million) from QAR 372.2 million ($102.21 million).

Transportation was the best performing sector after rising 1.86%, followed by real estate with an increase of 1.19%, while telecom dropped 0.83%.

Salam International Investment topped losers by falling 9.13%, whereas Gulf Warehousing headed gainers by adding 9.95%.

Gulf Warehousing was the most active with a trading volume of 1.48 million shares exchanged at QAR 88.79 million ($24.38 million).

The bourse’s main gauge declined yesterday by 2.2% or 225 points to the level of 10,008.77 points.
