Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Monday’s trading session in the green, supported by the increase of six sectors.
By 09:50 am Qatar time, the general index grew 0.31% to 8,958.27 points, adding 26.88 points.
The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 44.4 million after 688,500 shares were exchanged through 565 transactions.
The real estate sector topped the QSE risers adding 0.68% as Ezdan Holding Group levelled up 1.79%.
Similarly, the goods and services sector jumped 0.68% due to Medicare Group’s 6.67% rise.
The banking sector went up 0.59% as Masraf Al Rayan and the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) advanced 1.83% and 1.51%, respectively.
On the negative side, the transportation sector was the bourse’s only decliner losing 0.97%, dragged by Qatar Navigation which went down 1.30%.
Qatar Navigation’s stock led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 334,700 shares, while QNB’s stock spearheaded the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 21.1 million.
