Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index closed Wednesday rising 0.42% or 40.89 points to the level of 9,705.74 points.
The telecom was the best performing sector as it increased 1.23%, followed by banking, industrial and real estate sectors with a growth of 0.51%, 0.45% and 0.27% respectively.
Meanwhile, the transportation and insurance sectors fell 0.4% and 0.37% respectively.
The index was backed by the rise in Gulf International and Ezdan Holding advanced 2.16% and 0.18% respectively.
Qatari German for Medical Devices led risers by adding 3.92%, while Ezdan topped losers after dropping 3.2%.
Trading volume rose to 4.16 million shares from 4.02 million shares exchanged yesterday, whereas turnover fell to QAR 142.58 million from QAR 151.76 million.
