Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday’s trading session higher for the sixth session in a row, encouraged by the growth of six sectors, amid low liquidity.
The general index rose 42.44 points, or 0.46%, to finish at 9,230.60 points.
The bourse’s liquidity decreased to QAR 164.87 million on Wednesday from QAR 278.77 million on Tuesday, while the trading volume went down to 8.94 million shares against 12.10 million in the previous session.
The industrial sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 0.98% as Aamal Company jumped 4.54%.
Similarly, the goods sector levelled up 0.49% afetr the increase of Zad Holding Company by 5.12%, while the banking sector inched up 0.07% as Qatar First Bank grew 3.66%.
Meanwhile, the insurance sector declined 0.77%, dragged by Qatar Insurance’s 1.23% drop.
By the end of the session, Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which advanced 2.08%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 4.25 million shares, generating QAR 39.77 million in liquidity.
