QSE gains 49.98 pts at Wednesday’s open

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) saw gains on Wednesday, spurred by the rise of five sectors, topped by banks.

The general index grew 0.47% or 49.98 points to reach 10,752.10 points.

The banks sector climbed 1.15% as the National Leasing Holding Company (Alijarah) levelled up 3.3%.

The real estate sector added 0.84%, spurred by the rise of three stocks, topped by Ezdan Holding Group.

On the flipside, the consumer staples sector fell 0.2% as Mannai Corporation and Al Meera Consumer Goods Company slid 3.49% and 0.05%, respectively.

Turnover amounted to QAR 345.8 million on Wednesday, compared to QAR 700.9 million on Tuesday. Turnover reached 9.2 million shares, compared to 15.9 million shares.

Alijarah was the most active stock after trading 1.1 million shares, while Barwa Real Estate was the value leader after generating QAR 44.8 million.
