QSE gains 77.5 pts at Wednesday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed in the green on Wednesday, adding 0.74% or 77.51 points to reach 10,489.28 points.

Sectors saw a semi-collective rise, with insurance and transportation being the only losers, falling 0.52% and 0.13%, respectively.

The telecoms sector gained 2.1% as Ooredoo went up 2.54%.

The banks sector levelled up 0.85% backed by the Commercial Bank of Qatar’s (CBQ), Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Doha Bank, and Qatar National Bank (QNB), which grew 2.41%, 1.28%, 1.17%, and 1.01%, respectively.

The industrials sector increased 0.83% topped by Qatar Electricity and Water Company with 1.53%, followed by Qatar National Cement Company, Aamal, and Industries Qatar, adding 1.27%, 1.11%, and 0.9%, respectively.

Trading value dropped to QAR 201.2 million on Wednesday against QAR 281.14 million on Tuesday. Similarly, traded volume fell to 7.65 million shares against 10.87 million shares in the previous session.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock led stocks in terms of traded volume with 2.62 million shares, while Masraf Al Rayan recorded the highest turnover of QAR 31.9 million.

Earlier on Wednesday, the QSE’s benchmark index had gained 0.63% to 10,477.33 points.
