QSE gains slightly at Monday’s open

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) opened Monday in the green, rising slightly by 0.09% or 8.53 points to reach 9,842.11 points.

By 10:00 am Qatar time, four sectors were up, led by industrials with 0.54% as Qatari Investors Group, Qatar Industries, and Gulf International Services grew 1.62%, 1%, and 0.17%, respectively.

The telecoms sector rose 0.17% after Vodafone Qatar gained 0.55% and Ooredoo grew 0.1%.

The consumer goods and services sector increased 0.13% as Medicare Group and Qatar Fuel (Woqod) went up 1.05% and 0.16%, respectively.

On the other hand, the banks sector shed 0.18% after Al Khalij Commercial Bank went down 2.23% and Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) tumbled 0.92%. The transportation sector levelled down 0.60%.

National Leasing Holding (Alijarah) was the best performer, rising 1.67%, whereas Gulf Warehousing led losers with 3.2%.

In the meantime, liquidity reached QAR 8.61 million after 262,780 shares were traded through 258 transactions.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock was the most active stock with 54,990 shares exchanged, while Industries Qatar led in terms of trading value with QAR 2.98 million in turnover.
