Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Wednesday's trading session in green territory, helped by the growth of five sectors.
By 9:55 am Qatar time, the general index jumped 28.74 points, or 0.32%, to 8,923.95 points.
The bourse's trading volume reached 686,700 shares exchanged through 266 transactions, with a turnover of QAR 53.5 million.
The consumer goods and services sector rose 1.6%, boosted by Qatar Fuel’s (Woqod) stock which increased 3.21%, whereas Widam Food Company’s stock fell 1.54%.
The industrials sector inched up 0.86% as Qatar Electricity and Water Company’s (QEWC) stock grew 2.17%, while Industries Qatar’s stock levelled up 1%.
On the other hand, the banks and financial services sector shed 0.06% after Masraf Al Rayan’s stock inched down 0.57%.
Woqod’s stock was the most active in terms of traded volume after 337,300 shares were exchanged, generating QAR 49.9 million in a turnover.
