Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Thursday in the green after its benchmark jumped 35.66 points, or 0.35%, to 10,328.48 points.
The bourse’s trading volume reached 4.3 million shares, up from 4.2 million shares on Wednesday, whereas liquidity fell to QAR 147.4 million, against QAR 168.2 million.
The banks and financial services sector increased 0.60% as the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock inched up 0.60%, while the transportation sector rose 0.23% after the stocks of Qatar Gas Transport (Nakilat) and Qatar Navigation (Milaha) went up 0.34%, and 0.16%, respectively.
On the other hand, the consumer goods and services sector fell 0.12% as Zad Holding’s stock dipped 2.94%, while Al Meera Consumer Goods’ stock edged down 0.66%.
The industrials sector declined 0.11% after Qatar National Cement’s stock went down 1.35%.
Qatar Cinema and Film Distribution Company’s stock was the QSE’s best performer after growing 9.95%, whereas Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance’s (QGRI) stock led losers with 4.22%.
Vodafone Qatar’s stock, up 1.11%, topped the market in terms of traded volume after 887,900 shares were exchanged, while QNB’s stock led in terms of liquidity after generating QAR 31.3 million.
