Doha – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) recorded its lowest level since April 2013, as it closed Sunday at 8,527.75 points after slumping 7.16% or 657.37 points.
Al Rayan Islamic Index plummeted 8.29% to 3,061.39 points, and the All Shares Index dropped 6.84% to 2,281.36 points.
Meanwhile, trading volume was up 37% to 12.31 million shares, versus 8.99 million shares exchanged on Thursday. But, turnover shrank 3.7% to QAR 374.02 million, against QAR 388.51 million last session.
The bourse’s main sectors were down collectively, as real estate fell 9.94%, followed by telecom (-9.32%), goods (-8.13%), transportation (-7.17%), industrial (-7.02%), insurance (-5.26%) and banking (-5.13%).
In today’s session, all stocks closed on a negative note.
Gulf International was the most active in terms of value and volume after 1.76 million shares exchanged at QAR 67.34 million through 488 trades.
