QSE inches down at Wednesday’s open

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) fell 0.01% or 0.6 points to reach 9,058.29 points in Wednesday’s early trades.

By 9:35 am Qatar time, the real estate sector shed 0.83% as Mazaya Qatar, Barwa, and Ezdan Holding Group lost 2.36%, 1.77%, and 0.55%, respectively.

The banks sector sector dropped 0.35% after Al Khalij Commercial Bank slid 7.69% and Islamic Holding Group retreated 4.91%.

On the other hand, the telecoms sector rose 1.02% as Ooredoo gained 1.48%, while the insurance sector remained stable.

Traded volume reached 396,530 shares with a liquidity of QAR 9.68 million.

Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding’s stock was the most active in terms of trading volume with 124,790 shares exchanged, while Masraf Al Rayan led in terms of traded value with a turnover of QAR 2.89 million.

The level of the QSE benchmark index is considered the lowest since some Gulf and Arab countries cut their relations with Qatar on Monday.
