Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Monday’s trading session down, dragged by the drop of six sectors.
By 09:55 am Qatar time, the general index inched down 4.69 points, or 0.05 %, to 9,109.34 points.
The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 32.2 million after 1.7 million shares were exchanged through 412 transactions.
The industrial sector topped the QSE’s losers falling 0.47% as Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding declined 0.98%.
Similarly, the transportation sector retreated 0.46% after Gulf Warehousing and Qatar Gas Transport went down 1.18% and 0.3%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the banking sector was the bourse’s only riser adding 0.18%, helped by the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock which gained 0.06%.
Vodafone Qatar led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 972,900 shares, while Masraf Al Rayan, which advanced 0.17%, spearheaded the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 13.8 million.
