Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) declined slightly at close on Monday, trimming its losses in early trading.
The main index dropped 0.02% or 2.04 points to 9,371.86 points, Al Rayan Islamic Index rose 0.10% to 3,551.39 points and the Al Shares Index surged 0.01% to 2,580.87 points.
Trading volume reached 5.55 million shares worth QAR 246.23 million through 3,779 transactions, versus 3.55 million shares exchanged yesterday at QAR 123.30 million through 2,898 trades.
The insurance sector led the green list with a 2.19% decrease, while the industrial headed gainers with a growth of 0.57%.
Out of 41 companies, 17 shares closed at higher trends, 22 others plummeted and the two remaining stood at the same rates.
Qatar Industrial Manufacturing was the best performer as it advanced 7.45%, whereas Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution was the worst with a drop of 10%.
Gulf international made the biggest trading volume activity through 659,200 traded shares, while Qatar National Bank made the highest trading value activity with QAR 51 million.
The bourse’s main index closed yesterday falling 0.96% or 93.32 points to the level of 9,673.9 points.
