QSE index positive in week amid higher liquidity

Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) went up by 0.56% or 58.72 points to reach 10,629.13 points by the week ended 9 February when compared to 10,570.41 points by the week ended 2 February.

Liquidity grew by 29.2% to total QAR 1.3 billion this week from QAR 997.93 million in the prior week, and trading volume increased by 30.5% to 43 million shares from 32.95 million a week ago.

Market cap gained 0.16% to total QAR 569 billion this week from QAR 568.1 billion in the prior week.

The banks segment topped the weekly gainers with 30.4%, followed by the real estate, industrial, and telecom sectors which rose by 25.03%, 13.74%, and 10.68% respectively.

Barwa Real Estate was the most active stock by gaining 14.11% of the overall liquidity.
