Doha - Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed 0.07% or 7.25 points higher at 10,397.85 points on Sunday.
The index’s performance was affected by the rise of three sectors, led by the telecoms sector which went up 1.83% after Ooredoo increased 2.17% and Vodafone Qatar edged up 0.2%.
The industry sector rose 0.17%, topped by Qatari Investors Group with 1%.
On the flip side, the real estate sector slid 0.26%, led by Barwa Real Estate Company and Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development with 1.54% and 0.83%, respectively.
The banks and financial services sector declined 0.06%, led by Qatar Islamic Bank with 1.2%.
Liquidity on Sunday fell to QAR 200.03 million compared to QAR 334.61 million on Thursday, while traded volume declined to 5.49 million shares against 10.37 million shares in the previous session.
Vodafone Qatar’s share was the most active in terms of traded volume with 1.33 million shares exchanged, while Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) was the value leader with a liquidity of QAR 47.54 million.
Earlier on Sunday, QSE's benchmark index opened at a slight rise of 0.17% to 10,407.76 points.
