Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Tuesday’s trading session in the green, encouraged by the growth of all sectors, amid heavy liquidity.
The general index rose 193 points, or 2.12%, to finish the mid-week session at 9,310.51 points.
The bourse’s liquidity increased 7.3% to QAR 564.36 million on Tuesday from QAR 525.8 million on Monday, while the trading volume went up 64.5% to 16.7 million shares against 10.15 million in the previous session.
The telecommunication sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 4.8%, followed by the increase of the insurance, real estate and goods sectors with 3.8% 3.6% and 1.11% respectively.
By the end of the session, the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, which advanced 0.49%, led the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 110.63 million, while Qatar Navigation’s stock, which surged 5.7%, headed the market in terms of trading volume with 4.25 million shares.
