QSE jumps 250 pts at Wednesday close

Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday in the green zone, after soaring 2.77% or more than 250 points to reach 9,280.38 points.

The industrials sector rose 3.16% as Qatari Investors Group and Qatar National Cement Company went up 6.65% and 4.9%, respectively.

The banks sector grew 2.53% after Masraf Al Rayan gained 4.4% and Qatar National Bank (QNB) levelled up 2.1%.

Al Meera Consumer Goods Company’s stock led risers with 10%, whereas Qatar and Oman Investment Co shed 0.6%.

Traded volume increased to 12.78 million shares on Wednesday against 5.52 million shares on Tuesday, while liquidity surged to QAR 413.53 million from QAR 165.13 million.

Gulf International Services’ stock led in terms of trading volume with 2.36 million shares exchanged, growing 1.12%, while QNB’s stock was the most active in terms of traded value with a turnover of QAR 63.5 million.

Earlier on Wednesday, the QSE’s benchmark index edged down 0.01% or 0.76 points to reach 9,029.4 points.
