Doha – Mubasher: The Qatari bourse plummeted for the second consecutive day, after closing Tuesday with a fall of 0.07% or 8 points to the level of 10,802.29 points.
QE Al Rayan Islamic Index and the All Shares Index also dropped by 0.09% to 4,057.87 points and 0.07% to 2,880.65 points, respectively.
Trading volume closed at about 17.07 million shares exchanged in 3156 trades worth QAR 721.21 million, moving 222% higher than QAR 497 million yesterday.
“Today’s trend moved 0.07% downward, on pressure from a semi-collective fall in its sectors, , amid a significant increase in both trading value and trading volume,” Ayoub Eshban, financial analyst and economic advisor told Mubasher.
“The support levels ranged today between 10,750 and 10,800 points, while the resistance stood at 10,850, 10,900 and 10,950 points, respectively,” he said.
The transportation sector led the gainers with a rise of 0.84%, while insurance headed the losers with a fall of 1.23%.
Thirty-eight companies saw their shares being traded today, with 17 shares closing stronger, 16 ending weaker, and five remaining flat.
Al Khaleej Takaful Group share was the top gainer with a 7.17 increase, while Qatar National Bank share was the weakest with a decline of 2.80%
Al Rayan share made the best trading value and trading volume activities, with 9.50 million shares changing hands, and liquidity of QAR 378 million.
QSE closed Monday with a drop of 0.46% or about 50 points, reaching the level of 10,810.37 points.
