QSE loses 0.46% in early trade

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) fell at Monday’s open by 0.46% or 45.64 points to the level of 9,964.63 points.

Trading volume reached 5.64 million shares exchanged at QAR 149.96 points through 853 transactions.

By 10:20am Doha time, the industrial sector fell 0.84% as Mesaieed shrank 1.85%, the real estate sector dropped 0.76% due to a 2.21% fall in Barwa Real Estate; the worst performing stock.

The banking sector also declined 0.49%, dragged by the drop in Commercial Bank of Qatar by 2.02%.

On the flipside, the insurance sector grew 0.65% as Qatar Insurance rose 0.83% and the transportation sector leapt 0.02%, backed by a 0.22% increase in Nakilat.

Vodafone Qatar led the trading activity with a volume of 3.19 million shares exchanged at QAR 81.3 million.
