Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Sunday’s session on a negative note as its benchmark index fell 1.79% or 175.7 points to the level of 9,638.26 points.
The bourse’s sectors declined collectively, topped by the telecom with a 3% fall, pressured by the drop in Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar by 3.56% and 0.98% respectively.
The real estate sector shrank 2.56% as Barwa fell 3.93%.
The banking sector moved 1.35% down, affected by the decline in major stocks.
Turnover retreated to QAR 136.29 million from QAR 230.01 million on Thursday. Trading volume also decreased to 4.2 million shares from 7.31 million shares.
Al Meera was the worst performing share with a drop of 4.92%, while Qatar General Insurance topped gainers by adding 1.7%.
Qatar First Bank made the biggest trading activity with a volume of 675,000 shares exchanged at QAR 8.3 million. The stock fell 0.9%.
Meanwhile, Qatari Investors made the highest liquidity of QAR 16.4 million through exchanging 332,100 shares. The stock shrank 3.04%.
The index fell on Thursday by 1.96% or 200 points to the level of 9,813.96 points.
