Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Sunday’s session in the red, dragged down by the fall of three sectors.
The general index went down 34.26 points, or 0.39%, to finish at 8,856.90 points.
The QSE’s liquidity decreased to QAR 185.74 million on Sunday from QAR 1.04 billion on Thursday, while the trading volume went up to 7.75 million shares against 6.39 million in the previous session.
The banking sector topped the QSE’s decliners falling 0.65%, pressured by National Leasing Company and Qatar National Bank (QNB) which fell 3.3% and 1.6%, respectively.
Similarly, the industrial sector retreated 0.37% as Gulf International Services plunged 3.5%.
Meanwhile, the transportation sector topped the bourse’s four risers adding 1.4% as Qatar Gas Transport grew 1.82%.
Mesaieed’s stock, which advanced 0.33%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 2.2 million shares, generating QAR 32.5 million in liquidity.
