QSE loses 38 points at close

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday’s trading in the red zone after rising for two sessions in a row, bogged by four sectors.

The main index declined 0.36% or 38.12 points to the level of 10,452.28 points and the All Share Index dropped 0.09% to 2,865.4 points, while Al Rayan Islamic Index advanced 0.68% to 4,001.4 points.

The bourse’s main index rose yesterday by 0.44% or 45.47 points to 10,490.4 points.

Trading volume increased 27.9% to 12.16 million shares, whilst turnover decreased 1.51% to QAR 408.73 million ($112.26 million).

Real estate was the worst performing sector after losing 0.45%, followed by banking (-0.3%), consumer goods and services (-0.22%) and insurance (-0.2%).

On the flipside, the transportation, industrial and telecom sectors rose by 1.21%, 0.2% and 0.15% respectively.
