QSE loses 93 pts early Thursday

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Thursday’s trading session with a massive drop.

By 10:05 am Qatar time, the general index retreated 0.93% to 9,871.27 points, shedding 93.51 points.

The bourse’s turnover amounted to QAR 35.8 million after 1 million shares were traded through 640 transactions.

The transportation sector topped the QSE’s decliners falling 1.41% as Qatar Gas Transport (Nakilat) and Qatar Navigation (Milaha) plunged 1.85% and 1.45%, respectively.

Similarly, the banking sector decreased by 1.02% on the back of Qatar International Islamic Bank’s (QIIB) 1.36% drop, while the industrial sector went down 0.97% after Investment Holding Group levelled down 2.28%.

Barwa Real Estate Development’s stock, which declined 0.55%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 180,100 shares, while Qatar National Bank’s stock spearheaded the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 12.9 million.
