QSE losses 132 points at Wednesday close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Wednesday in red, amidst a collective drop in all sectors, while trading improved.

The general index dropped 1.59% to 8,125.98 points, losing 131.7 points.

The real estate sector led the seven losing sectors, with 4.22%, pushed down by the collective loss of all stocks, led by Ezdan with 5.16%.

The banks sector also slid 1.47%, as QIIB led the 11 losers with 3.79%, while the industrials sector fell 0.92%, following the decline of many shares, led by Gulf international with a 3.94% drop.

On the other hand, the liquidity showed improvement, reaching QAR 181.22 million, versus QAR 148.27 million in the previous session, with trading volume increasing to 8.69 million shares from 6.77 million shares.

Investment Holding, down 2.81%, achieved the highest trading volume with 1.5 million shares, while QNB recorded the highest turnover with QAR 53.8 million, dropping 0.78% though.
