QSE main index falls 0.49% at Tuesday’s open

Doha - Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) slid 0.49% or 50.61 points to 10,293.47 points at the beginning of Tuesday’s trading session.

The index was affected by the collective drop of its sectors with the exception of insurance, which rose 0.33%.

The transportation sector fell 0.53% as Nakilat lost 0.66% and Qatar Navigation weighed down 0.4%.

The real estate sector dragged down 0.43% led by Barwa with 0.56%, Mazaya Qatar with 0.27%, and Ezdan Holding with 0.51%.

The banks and financial services sector levelled down 0.38% as Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) tumbled 5.8%.

On the hand, three shares increased topped by Mazaya Qatar with 0.82%, while Qatar Insurance gained 0.43%, and Dlala Brokerage went up 0.22%.

The volume of trading reached 560,680 shares with a value of QAR 10.79 million generated through 329 transactions.

QIIB’s stock was the most active in terms of volume and value as 53,720 shares were traded at turnover of QAR 3.5 million.
