Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) main index kept position in green for the second session on Tuesday as it gained 0.48% or 47.02 points to the level of 9,789.80 points.
Al Rayan Islamic Index leapt 0.11% to 3,581.25 points, and the All Shares Index rose 0.37% to 2,611.65 points.
Trading volume hit 5.48 million shares valued at QAR 2.2 billion through 2,995 trades, compared to yesterday’s a 6.95 million shares worth QAR 298.18 million reached through 4,015 trades.
The insurance sector advanced 1.02%, followed by transportation at 0.69%, banking (+0.50%), industrial (+0.37%), telecom (+0.30%) and real estate (+0.07%) with an increase of 0.69%. The goods and services sector slipped alone by 0.82%.
Out of 46 companies saw trading, 24 shares closed higher, 16 others plummeted and the six remaining stayed at the same rates.
Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance was the strongest with a growth of 7.25%, while Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution was the weakest with a decline of 10%.
Masraf Al Rayan was the most active in terms of volume and value with 1.86 million traded shares of QAR 64.11 million reached through 299 trades.
