Doha-Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) witnessed gains in the week ended 11 August. The general index gained 2.57% or 274.23 points to reach 10,955.31 points.
The market heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) rose 1.16% this week, followed by Ezdan Holding, Masraf Al Rayan and Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) which levelled up 1.02%, 5.29%, 2.3% and 2.73% respectively.
The telecom sector was the best performer after adding 3.76%, followed by the industrial, insurance and real estate sectors which advanced 3.76%, 3.14%, 2.64% and 2.48% respectively.
The banks also went up 2.37%, spurred by Al Khalij Commercial Bank which increased 8.76%. Likewise, the transportation and services sectors climbed 1.01% and 9.57% respectively.
Trading volume reached 49.1 million shares this week, compared to 25.62 million shares last week. Turnover stood at AED 1.93 billion, compared to AED 926.82 million.
