QSE makes 2-session gains; 0.30% up

Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) main index continued its positive performance for the second day on Thursday after rising 0.30% or 32 points, reaching the level of 10,860.18 points, driven by a semi-collective increase by most of its sectors.

Al Rayan Islamic Share jumped 0.29% up to 4,008.82 points, and the All Shares Index leapt by 0.31% to 2,895.09 points at the end of the session.

Trading volume came to about 4.82 million shares exchanged through 2753 trades, making a trading value of QAR 192.44 million.

“The support level was 10,800 points, while the resistance levels ranged between 10,900 and 11,000 points,” Ayoub Eshban, financial analyst and economic advisor, explained to Mubasher.

The telecom sector was the highest performer with a rise of 1.59%, while transportation was the lowest with a drop of 0.26%.

Today 39 shares were traded, of which 23 closed in a higher trend, eight moved down, and the remaining eight closed flat.

The Islamic Holding share led the gainers with a 2.47% increase, while Qatar Navigation topped the losers with a 1.12% decrease.

Qatar Gas Transport Limited dominated both the highest trading value and trading volume charts, with about 778,900 shares being traded, and liquidity of more than QAR 20 million.

The main index closed Wednesday at a rise of 0.23% or 25 points to the level of 10,827.66 points.
